It can go either way...
Post HS, one is open to the world of the 'gentiles'. Their habits, their entertainment, their potty mouths.
Now the question is, do you stick with what you know, or go on to greener pastures?
Sure, we're Jews, we have the Torah, we're so special, la di da. But they're having the fun, they're enjoying life, they're figuring themselves out in a way that Jew girls don't have the leeway to do.
Or, I can become ridiculously involved in the Hillel on campus, go to Makor twice every week and start chilling at the Chabad House in midtown. (Note the lubavitch theme, itt'l come up again)
It's so frightening how open to influence I am.
So which way peeps? Take the high road of faith and religion?
Watch R. Dawkins till I turn blue in the face?
Or have my fun for 5+ years and do a turnaround?
